EMS was originally founded in 1937 as Electric Motor Service. In 1990 the name was changed to Electric Motor Systems to better define the nature of our business, and in 1994 we shortened to the acronym EMS. Our business is the sale and service of AC variable frequency drives (VFD's) and systems. In July of 1999 EMS was acquired by Magnetek (see below).
