Overview-
The new IIS electromechanical indexing system, designed to replace the hydraulic indexing drive, provides improved cycle times and a reduction in the hydraulic maintenance of the Nissei ASB-650 Blow Molding indexing table.
Power is supplied by a high performance AC servomotor and heavy duty gearbox to ensure the proper torque and speed is provided to complete a high cycle index. Industrial Indexing Systems developed a special conversion adapter for the gearbox, the Kit-ADT-43, to provide a bolt-in replacement for the HR-20S type hydraulic motor.
Cycle Time Improvement-
Faster index completion time and an improved PLC scan time can reduce the index cycle time for the 90 degree move on the table to 1.3 seconds with a standard precision assembly or 0.99 seconds with a reduced backlash assembly.
Simple Adjustments-
Using a touchscreen interface mounted on the enclosure, the indexing table's acceleration and speeds can be adjusted on-the-fly for optimum performance.
Conversion Process-
The ASB-650 table modifications consists of removing the hydraulic motor and the rotation arm from the table assembly and installing the rotational spline collar, available from Nissei, using two 20mm locking pins. The motor/gearbox/adaptor assembly and electrical enclosure are then installed.
Install, Setup, Support-
The customer is responsible for installing the rotation collar and pins on the table after removing hydraulic motor, assorted hoses and the rotation arm assembly. The customer will then install the motor/gear/adaptor assembly, and the enclosure.
Technicon can be contracted to provide a technician to install the wiring from the IIS enclosure to the servomotor and to assist in integrating the IIS indexing system into PLC logic and controls. PLC programming is required for this retrofit and Technicon can recommend a third party who is expert in the operation of the ASB machines.
Other Programs-
Upgrade kits for other obsolete electric and hydraulic motor based index tables are also available from Technicon. Please call us to discuss your requirements. (1-800-836-3824)
